Q: How do I submit my abstract to be considered for the State-of-the-Art Stroke Nursing Symposium to be held on Feb. 23, 2010?
A: Abstract Submission (deadline Aug. 7, 2009). Once you have signed in, select Nursing Symposium. Your abstract may be selected for oral presentation at the Nursing Symposium on Feb. 23, 2010, or for poster presentation at the International Stroke Conference on Feb. 24-26, 2010. Registration will be required for both events.
Q: How do I apply for an Early Career Investigator Award?
A: While you are submitting an abstract, you must indicate in your submission the award for which you are applying. To complete your award application, visit the awards page for a list of additional items that must be received by the AHA/ASA. Each applicant for these awards must also be a member of the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association at any membership level.

Q: What is the Itinerary Planner
A: Our Itinerary Planner is a great tool for looking up program information. It also allows you to plan your days at the International Stroke Conference. It is usually available in late October and is continuously updated as we get closer to the meeting, so that you always have the latest information.
Q: What are symposiums and how can I register/attend them?
A: Symposiums are special programs held each year before the actual meeting begins. Example: In 2009, we held the State-of-the-Art Stroke Nursing Symposium before the International Stroke Conference. Detailed information for 2010 symposiums will be available in August on the Stroke Conference Web site.

A: No, you do not have to be a member to attend the meeting; however, you receive many benefits by becoming a Professional Member of the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association, including a discount on the International Stroke Conference advance registration fee.
